Kate Davis: East Coast Snow Bunny
A transplant from Colorful Colorado to the Tar Heel State, Kate Davis is MMI’s account coordinator. Her job is to assist Patty, handle office management, assist Patty, support the account executives, assist Patty, help out office staff, and … did we mention Kate is Patty’s assistant?
Kate graduated from Colorado State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Technical Journalism and Communication, with a concentration in PR. While in college, she wrote for the school newspaper, “The Rocky Mountain Collegian.” Kate had an early taste of PR event planning when she volunteered to plan events for the Colorado High School Press Association. These events allowed journalism teachers from around the state to learn new techniques and teaching methodologies.
Back in her previous life in the hip Denver scene, Kate was a trainer and assistant manager for the Tavern Hospitality Group, a very successful and popular restaurateur. Not your typical Coloradoan, Kate decided she wanted to be closer to the beach. She actually can’t stand cold weather, which is admittedly weird for someone who lives in a state known for skiing and the best snow in the West. Kate isn’t totally weird, though, because she’s a die hard Denver sports fan. Go Broncos!
Prior to MMI, Kate worked at Prestonwood Country Club. Glamorous environments are her thing! She also likes journalistic style writing, building relationships with clients, and creating positive images for those companies and people she believes in.
Involved in her community, Kate volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club in Colorado for more than four years. She helped direct the 2004 Miracle on 19th Street in Denver, which provides food and provisions to over 6000 homeless people on Christmas day. She currently resides in Raleigh with her boyfriend and dog.
MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
