Ryal Curtis: Multi-Tasker Par Excellence
Ryal Curtis is a senior account executive at MMI who divulged he’s so obsessed with multi-tasking that he brushes his teeth with his right hand while screwing on the toothpaste cap with his left. Try doing that sometime!
PR was made for multi-taskers, and Ryal’s an exceptional one. Maybe it’s in his blood, since he comes from a family of PR and Advertising professionals. Family and friends are a huge part of Ryal’s life … and so are his clients. A graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in English, Ryal uses his considerable writing and storytelling skills to tell his clients’ stories. With clients ranging from architects, lawyers, real estate agents, and Ph.D. professionals in the areas of education to the biomedical sciences, Ryal has to know the ins and outs of a half-dozen very different fields.
Yet Ryal thrives on doing things that others said would be too difficult to accomplish. Fortified with coffee, he meets new challenges and deadlines daily. He’s a leader at MMI, mentoring both staff and interns. He admits “addictions” to Rolling Stone Magazine, CNN Blogs, podcasts that discuss music, going to concerts, and watching soap operas. What everybody loves about Ryal is his unfailing ability to make us laugh.
With a number of other PR and Marketing professionals from around the Triangle, Ryal serves on the 2008 Toast to the Triangle™ PR Committee. The Toast is the largest annual fundraiser for the Tammy Lynn Memorial Foundation, Inc., which offers educational, residential and family support services to children and adults with special needs. In 2007, Ryal chaired a VIP event for the North Carolina Education Ball. Celebrating its 5th year, this statewide event drew top elected officials, educators and business leaders from around the state to help raise proceeds for Communities In Schools North Carolina (CISNC), the number one community-based drop-out prevention program in the country, serving over 100,000 youth across the state. Ryal coordinated and managed the event’s inaugural VIP toast event, which honored the top sponsor contributors to the 2007 event.
A native of Midland, Michigan and a long-time resident of East Lansing, Michigan, Ryal resides in Raleigh with his fiancé.
MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
