4-14-06 - Can Writers Speak?

Yay! I got my wish and didn’t trip over my own tongue at Toastmasters last night! As a matter of fact, I won a “Best Speaker” ribbon for the evening.

However, I have to confess that the original meeting had been scheduled in Clayton’s Chamber of Commerce last Thursday and had to be postponed until yesterday, because of a conflict with an unscheduled Chamber meeting in the same room. No one thought about it being the night before Good Friday. So none of the other three scheduled speakers could make it.

Except for an Englishman who gamely agreed to give an impromptu speech, I was the only speaker.
