4/10/06 Today With Patty ...

It’s been another wild day—I have been in the office all day, going from meeting to conference call and conference call to meeting and back and forth again—but any day I get to wear blue jeans to the office is still a good day.

I worked almost all weekend because I am a loser. Yesterday I had spring fever and went out and spent a lot of money on clothes and shoes, then went back out again and bought flowers and stuff to plant on my back deck. At least I got to sit outside, though.

Many people don’t know that I am certified as a “master gardener.” Unfortunately, this certification is from Arizona, which does not do me much good in North Carolina.

I have a yard that doesn’t get a single ray of sunshine. It’s all wooded and shady. One little known fact is that there are 32,000 species of bugs in N.C., and all but four of them live in my back yard.

What is it about all the webs here? In Arizona, we have black widow spiders and scorpions. That’s it. Here in “web-land” just going out to get the paper is an adventure.
