I’ve been out and about, taking care of client stuff and fending off pollen attacks. With the top down on my convertible, it felt like I was injecting pollen into my nostrils at top speed, so I’ve reluctantly put the top back up. I’ll miss all that honking, hooting and waving from appreciative males.
Today is Claire’s birthday. I made her go see an optometrist because lately she’s had her face about three inches from the computer screen and was complaining about headaches. Claire showed up in a new pair of glasses and looks quite chic.
We ordered an awesome cake from Catering Works for Claire’s birthday. Before ordering any cake, we always have quite a discussion about the kind of cake we want, the icing, the filling, etc., etc. There’s more discussion, thought and strategy that goes into selecting a cake than some of our PR campaigns! Food is a major motivator at MMI.
Tonight is the Coldwell Banker Building Open House from 5 to 7 pm, and MMI will have all hands on deck to make certain the 1950s-theme event goes smoothly. Our very own Miss Kate will make an appearance as Marilyn Monroe. I’m quite anxious to see how the blonde wig comes out.
When it opened in 1955, the Occidental Building was the pinnacle of Raleigh office space, and after years of vacancy and neglect the building has been given a new life and a new name by Billie Redmond and her LLC of investors and main tenants.
There’s Something About Mari … It was brought to my attention yesterday that I forgot to blog about Mari, so here goes … Mari gets seasick, and if you know anything about the Briguglios, you know that we are BIG on sailing. Once we took Mari and about 12 other people out on our sailboat in Connecticut. It was a glorious day, perfect for sailing, and everyone was having a wonderful time … except Mari.
When Mari said she was seasick, I handed her a yellow bucket and told her, “Have at it, Mari!” In remembrance of that occasion, I have collected tiny yellow buckets for Mari ever since. Every now and then, I send her one, just to prove my thoughtfulness. Aren’t I a wonderful friend?

MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
