Today has not been a good day—it’s been frustrating. I won’t bore you with the details.
However, I did have a great Easter. John and I were in Oriental, N.C., where we own waterfront property. The whole reason we moved to North Carolina was so we could spend more time sailing, but in the past two and a half years, we have been sailing only once. Not a good thing.
This past weekend we decided that we are going to build a house on our property in Oriental. We have been staying on our boat, but that just won’t work in the long term. When I was young, and my knees worked, and I had a Barbie-doll figure, I didn’t mind small, crampy spaces. Now that I am of a certain age and stuck with the relentless deterioration of the aging process, my priorities have changed.
Although the thought of building a house makes me want to go have a root canal, I don’t see a real alternative.
My office space is located in a condo building, and we had a condo association meeting today. I am the association secretary and have volunteered my efforts for several projects this past year. The condo association is another thing that makes me want to go have a root canal. People who refuse to spend money to maintain the appearance of their condo building and grounds drive me up the wall. No one wants to help out, and everyone seems to assume that nothing is too much to ask of Patty Briguglio. “Ask Patty! She’ll take care of it.”
Well, at least I had a lovely lunch today at Pei Wei, the awesome PF Chang’s fast casual restaurant. I was able to introduce some people to one another who subsequently decided to work together and help each other out, which is something that always makes me feel good when I am able to accomplish it.

MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
