5/10/06 Today Without Patty ...

This morning Patty rose early to fly to Phoenix for both business and pleasure. When I spoke with her over the phone, she said that the flight was fine, except for the fact that Southwest Airlines now charges for bags that weigh over 50 pounds.

“My luggage contains 50 pounds in shoes alone!” Patty said.

But somehow Patty convinced the guy at the counter that she had a lot of wet towels in her bag and that they would all get dry during the flight, so he didn’t charge her anything extra. (?) Don’t ask me how she does it, but Patty can talk just about anybody into just about anything.

When Patty and John get off the plane in Phoenix, Patty goes directly to a meeting of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), where she will see some old friends as well as several of her Arizona clients. She spilled something down the front of her blouse during the flight, though, so she is a little worried about looking like a loser.

Besides attending the wedding of Sandy Abalos, Patty and John are looking forward to seeing their old friends Tom and Karen. When the Briguglios lived in Connecticut more than 25 years ago, they spent many Friday nights with Tom and Karen, and when Patty and John moved to Phoenix, coincidently, their friends ended up also moving there.

Patty is also looking forward to meeting a prospective new client from Tucson who is a commercial real estate developer. Phew! Patty creates such a whirlwind of activity wherever she goes.
