5/18/06 Today With Patty ... Part II

by Patty

Nicole fell in love …

With a purse.

Not just any purse. A really, really cool purse. Only it cost too much. Nicole was totally willing to pay the price, but I made her wait. Finally, after traipsing through about 10 stores and passing by dozens of street vendors, Nicole bought her dream purse for $33.

To celebrate this wise purchase, we ate outdoors at a fabulous Italian restaurant in Little Italy and drank imported Italian beer (on top of the imported Chinese beer we had earlier). Nicole has taken at least two hundred photos of New York City by now, and she is so excited she’s chattering nonstop like a chipmunk.

Excuse me, but we have to go take showers, because we’re all sweaty from walking so much. We have to change into party clothes for the big event tonight, where we will undoubtedly work our little tails off.
