5/19/06 Today Without Patty ...

Today Patty and Nicole are still working at Sarah Merians Photography & Company, in a posh loft on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Sarah Merians is known for its amazing, trendsetting parties, and last night’s was no exception. Patty says the Who’s Who of New York were there!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the rest of us here at MMI have been taking care of our clients and doing PR for Carolina Crossroads, a new entertainment and tourism destination bringing live concerts, shopping, hotels, restaurants, conference facilities, recreation and amusements to the small North Carolina city of Roanoke Rapids.

Randy Parton, who is the brother of Dolly Parton and President of Moonlight Bandit Productions, is playing a major role in making Carolina Crossroads a featured location for live country music and a nationally recognized travel destination. You will see a huge boost to the economy of Roanoke Rapids and Halifax County.

MMI is handling PR for the Big & Rich (aka John Rich and Big Kenny) concert coming up on June 3 at Carolina Crossroads. Right now the location is an open field and doesn’t even have a stage, and I am having major flashbacks to Woodstock ’69, when workers were still hammering nails on stage up to the last minute as 500,000 people abandoned their cars on traffic-jammed roads and walked miles to get to the concert.

They say history repeats itself. I don’t know about that. Fashion does, though. The hip-hugging, tight flare jeans I wore back in 1969 are back in style today, and I still wear them. Um, not the same jeans … but replicas. In the same size, I’m boastfully proud to say. Far out, man.
