5/8/06 Today With Patty ...

Today I have been lurching from one thing to another, with meetings and conference calls back-to-back. We are thrilled to be working with Carolina Crossroads, a 750-acre music theater and entertainment center to be located along Interstate 95 at Exit 171 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Carolina Crossroads is destined to become a nationally-recognized travel destination for our state, and MMI will help to make that happen! Wahoo!

Tonight I had planned to attend a BIG event: Nicole and Kate’s softball game. But it is so darned cold and rainy, we think they will cancel the game. Nicole and Kate are soooo different. Kate plays in men’s boxer shorts and high top sneakers. A born athlete, Kate whacks the ball out of the ballpark.

Nicole, on the other hand, shows up with matching, color-coordinated ensembles and stresses about breaking a fingernail. But I love them both.

Today we obtained coverage in USA Today for MMI client Karen Ross of Montgomery’s Florist. This family owned and operated business has served the Triangle since 1922, but as the USA Today feature explains, they have been forced to raise their prices due to the cost of gasoline.

There’s Nothing About Mari … Mari is ignoring me, so she must be mad. What does she want? I blogged about her all last week.
