The most unusual thing about today is that I am in the office the entire day. I didn’t have to meet with any clients, and I am happy to report that I’m dressed accordingly.
For those of you who don’t know about the MMI dress code, my staff get to wear jeans, flip-flops and shorts if they are not seeing clients. On the other hand, I almost always have to dress as befits my grand station in life, so I love these rare opportunities when I can let my hair down.
With a number of new clients coming on board, we have been interviewing candidates for several positions. We haven’t made any decisions yet, since we tend to be very selective. Only the best get hired at MMI. Whenever I forget this, Candy smacks me and reminds me, “No, we are NOT going to hire just anyone.”
We had our usual Friday team meeting today and it was a lot of fun. These days we have our meetings standing up around our center island in the main office room. Candy runs them according to a tight agenda. If I ran the meetings, they would probably last three hours, as I tend to head off on tangents.
We’ve been celebrating some good news today about a number of our clients and I will make some big announcements about this next week!
The office condo association is equal to a root canal in my book. Before I bought my office here, maintenance and upkeep were two words the condo association never discussed. Apparently, they never even held meetings. Now that I’m on board, the others probably rue the day I bought my property, but at least we’ve got painting, repairing and termite control taken care of.
We have a sign out front that was probably erected in 1960 and last maintained in 1962. I have spent so much time researching replacement signs lately that you could call me the Queen of Signs.

MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
