Today I had a great meeting with a new client, ATCOM, one of the most experienced and largest independent distributor of business telephone systems in North Carolina and South Carolina. If you are interested in VoIP, these are the people to talk to.
Nicole and I visited The Castleton Group today to talk with them about the book we are working on with them, The Best Practices of the Best Places to Work, which will profile 30 of the top companies in the Triangle. While we were there, we snuck across the hall to visit Brooks Savage at Executive Staffing Group. Brooks just returned from vacation and he is looking way too tan, with raccoon eyes from his sunglasses. Nicole and I were busting him about it.
I was supposed to attend the NC Women’s Forum today, but I am too far behind in my work. Besides that, the Forum is composed of only two Republican women and 10,000 communist, liberal, bed-wetting Democrats who beat up on us. Supposedly the Forum is bipartisan, but it is hard when 99.9999% of the membership is Democrat. Usually I can hold my own, but today I did not have the strength.
“Ryal Frank” is back from vacation. He made the mistake of working on his vacation and sending us email with his middle name “Frank” included. Naturally Ryal’s co-workers leapt on this, particularly Kipp and Nicole, who were brutal. They made a sign that said, “Welcome back, Frank.” Whether it’s better to be called “Frank” than “Rrarr”—which is what they used to call him—is anyone’s guess. But Ryal is smart enough not to let any of this get to him, even the fact that he wore boat shoes to Michigan. Apparently this is a fashion faux pas.
Kipp got his summer buzz cut from the Kipp Bodnar School of Cosmetology. His head feels just like velvet.
