MMI had two successful events this past weekend: the Big & Rich concert Saturday night at Carolina Crossroads and the North Carolina Education Ball, a signature event that benefits Communities in Schools of North Carolina (CIS), the nation’s leading community-based organization helping students stay in school.
At the Big & Rich concert, Candy ran the show and gave everyone their marching orders. The MMI staff working the event had all the access passes, so they had ample opportunity to rub elbows with the performers, which besides John Rich and Big Kenny included Cowboy Troy, Jason Aldean, Danielle Peck And Southern Draw. My staff really worked hard but enjoyed themselves at the same time. They were close to the stage and took some pictures that I’ve included with today’s blog.
Ryal, Kipp, Claire and Michelle worked their tails off herding media personnel, while Kate and Nicole ran the sponsor tent, making sure everyone had food and drink. The tales from the weekend have kept us laughing and entertained today, especially the trip to Wal-Mart at Roanoke Rapids to buy $170-worth of fat-free potato chips and the inconvenient side effects of Olestra. As to what those side effects are … well, we won’t go there.
