6/7/06 Today With Patty ...

Sandy, my accountant in Phoenix, came up with this “great” idea for me to join her and some other friends at a Roller Blade Camp. You have to understand that Sandy is gorgeous and athletic, while I am … well, gorgeous and unathletic. So I suggested some alternative camps. “How about a Spa Camp instead?” I asked. “An Alcohol Camp? Maybe a Beach Camp?”

If I attend Sandy’s Roller Blade Camp, there is no doubt in my mind that I will end up later at a Broken Hip Camp.

Today I met with the North Carolina Raleigh-Wake Human Resource Management Association (RWHRMA), for which we have been named PR agency of record. RWHRMA is a not-for-profit human resources professional association and a local affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management. As the leading HR association in North Carolina, RWHRMA consists of over 400 members representing a variety of businesses in Raleigh and the surrounding area.

At the TCREW luncheon today, I listened and spoke with Mayor Charles Meeker, President/CEO Nancy Hormann of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance (DRA), and Raleigh’s Planning Director, Mitchell Silver, all of whom were on a panel to discuss the revitalization of downtown Raleigh. I am so impressed with everything Mayor Meeker has done for the downtown area and I believe it will be his legacy.

There’s Something About Mari … Last night I spoke with Mari on the phone, and she had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. The principal at the school where Mari works played a practical joke on her, pretending to be someone else on the phone. He “got” her good. Now I am helping Mari to plan an evil revenge, which is one of our all-time favorite activities to do together.
