I’m already on every committee in town. So what does my “favorite” client, dear sweet Erika Mangrum, President of Iatria Spa and Health Center, do to me? She gets involved in Resources For Seniors, Inc. (RFS) and the upcoming Speaking of Women’s Health Conference!
I warned her not to get involved in any of this, because I knew I would get sucked in. Well … guess who’s chairing the Publicity and Promotion Committee for the conference? Yep. Yours truly. And who’s chairing the entire event? None other than Erika Mangrum. I am such a loser.
Speaking of events, I have two scheduled for tonight. Nicole will attend one event for me, but I have to attend the other. I’m looking forward to chicken and white wine again. Chicken and white wine is what I had last night and I’m sure it will be on the menu tonight.
I have been playing hookey today. I was supposed to attend a luncheon meeting, but I couldn’t drag myself to yet another event, force myself to eat chicken and green beans, and listen to someone talk. I do that every day, and today I rebelled. Instead I’m in the office doing proposals.
I keep telling Candy that she needs to work harder and hire more people, but she’s having difficulty finding just the right candidates. She’s been buying more Clairol to cover her increasingly gray hair and chewing her fingernails down to the quick. To work at MMI, you have to be good at what you do, and you also have to have a certain charisma. That’s hard to find.
MMI prides itself as being a diverse organization. Kipp used to be the only male, but Candy thought he should have some company, so she went overboard and hired three more men. The front room just oozes testosterone now.
All the girls are in the back room. It used to be the quiet room, which we call the “Bat Cave,” but now, with Nicole back there, the room is full of giggling and entirely too much fun. They now call it the “cool room.” I wonder if our premier writer, Gloria, will lose her sanity?

MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
