This morning we had lots of fun at the kick-off event at WakeMed Health Park to plan the Speaking of Women’s Health day-long conference on December 9. Our publicity committee with our feather boas and tiaras was a huge hit, and we were the only committee that completely sold out. WakeMed did a fabulous job putting this kick-off event together. They decorated the Health Park with sunflowers and provided fresh fruit smoothies and great food. It was very impressive.
Two MMI clients, Erika Mangrum and Dr. Angela Baylis of the Iatria Spa and Health Center, have joined in partnership with the National Speaking of Women’s Health Foundation to educate the women in our community as a natural outgrowth of their Iatria mission. Both Erika and Angela have assumed leadership roles in the development of this conference. I am so proud of my clients!
Today at noon, I was supposed to attend a luncheon event, but I blew it off and stayed in the office to handle client matters. No chicken and green beans for lunch! Yay! Instead I ate Arby’s with my staff and spent time preparing for a meeting with my newest client, Wake Technical Community College.
Tonight I attend a wrap-up for the Education Ball held by Communities in Schools (CIS), a very worthy nonprofit that is the nation’s largest stay-in-school network. This year’s Education Ball was hugely successful. The wrap-up will be held at the Matthews House. Coincidently, I was just there last night and had chicken and white wine. I had breakfast with Matthews House owner Sheila Ogle this morning and will have dinner with her again tonight. Can you guess what I’ll be having for dinner?
