My 18-year-old niece, Katie, is visiting this week from Tucson. No one ever told me that 18-year-olds are nocturnal. Getting Katie up this morning was not one of my favorite experiences that I care to repeat.
I took her over to Peace College today, as I think that would be the perfect school for her. Peace College is known for its low student-to-faculty ratios, supportive campus environment and active and collaborative learning. Katie says she liked what she saw. She’s interested in political science. The only thing she didn’t care for was the Peace College requirement that students must attend church once a week.
I dropped Katie off at the office, where Candy put her to work shredding checks, sharpening pencils and organizing supplies.
I had lunch today at 115 Midtowne with Jonathan Taylor, Regional Executive of Crescent State Bank, and Brian Farmer, Vice President of Commercial Leasing Services at Coldwell Banker Commercial TradeMark Properties. I enjoyed the company very much and the Caesar salad, of course, was excellent.
After lunch, I returned to the office and picked up Allison. She and I went to Exploris, Raleigh’s well-known interactive museum about the world, to talk about plans for an upcoming exhibit for which MMI will handle publicity.
Tonight I will take Katie to Iatria Day Spa, where we will enjoy pedicures and massages. Katie thinks I am the coolest aunt in the world, and she’s right, of course.

MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
