7/31/06 Today With Patty ...

I had breakfast with Bill Turner of dBusinessNews.com, the nation’s leading Internet provider of local business intelligence. Bill and I were reminiscing about where we were three years ago, when I had just moved to the Triangle, and Bill had just founded dBusinessNews. Today Bill has 70 + local business destination sites in major markets across the United States, and MMI is the 6th largest PR firm in Raleigh. He was very complimentary about how much MMI has grown.

Later on today, I had a good meeting with Tom Bland of Preservation Homes, the most unique custom homebuilder in the Triangle. Tom really knows how to do things right. His company just launched its new corporate website, so be sure to go take a look. Preservation Homes has vaulted from startup to a # 17 ranking in the Triangle housing market, which includes more than 400 homebuilders.

I’m looking quite stylish today with my leopard shoes—which hurt like a mother—and my tortoise shell eyeglasses and black pants. I wore a leopard jacket to start out with, but my husband said it was too much, so I substituted a flashy gold one instead.

Nicole said the necklace I bought last time I shopped with her would have been perfect with this outfit, and I agree, but for the life of me I can’t remember where that necklace is. I have so much jewelry, I’ve started stuffing it into this thing that hangs on the back of my bathroom door, and now necklaces and bracelets are falling out onto the floor. My husband says I have “issues” with jewelry (and shoes, too).
