I celebrated a birthday recently and my friends here at MMI surprised me with a cake and candles and sang “Happy Birthday.” Earlier I told Patty I was dieting and asked for fruit on my birthday instead of cake. My request gave Patty a facial tic you would not believe, but I have to admit that the cake did arrive with fruit on it: raspberries, strawberries and mandarin oranges. Inside the cake was some raspberry mousse. Yum.
Pizza appears almost daily here at MMI. Not good pizza—just cheese and pepperoni or sausage. No onions, mushrooms, black olives, peppers or anything that makes pizza worthwhile. Veggies? Nobody here seems to know what they are.
Food is an issue at MMI. We’re not supposed to put anything else into the candy jar until we eat what’s in it now. The jar still contains jelly beans and stale chocolate from Easter. Who knows? Maybe the chocolate is from Easter before last. Patty bought it at a bargain, anyway.
Next to the cookie jar is a huge vat of potato chips, of which I am suspicious. Did you read Patty’s blog yesterday about the $170-worth of fat-free potato chips and the side effects of Olestra?
