RALEIGH, N.C. – Lou Jurkowski, chief executive officer of BJAC, P.A., one of the largest woman-owned design firms in the Southeast, has announced the release of a podcast on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification training. In this podcast, Julia Janaro, LEED AP, explains the basics of LEED and why it is crucial for designers to obtain their LEED certification as green building becomes more prevalent. Janaro also discusses how to ensure that a building project becomes a candidate for LEED certification and the many resources in the Triangle for environmentally friendly design. This podcast is available for download at http://www.bjac.com/podcasts.html.
“LEED certification is critical for designers who want to develop environmentally responsible projects that also satisfy the needs of clients,” said Janaro. “Becoming a LEED certified professional enables a designer to contribute to clients’ longer range goals of efficiency and environmental stewardship.”
