Cary Visual Art, Inc. Hosts Public Art Lecture

CARY, N.C. – Cary Visual Art, Inc. (CVA), a nonprofit organization that supports the placement of unique public art, will host a public art lecture entitled On the Road Again … Creative Transportation Design by Dian Magie. The event is free and open to the public and is scheduled for April 18 at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center at 7 p.m. In the presentation, Dian Magie, the executive director of the University of North Carolina, Center for Craft, Creativity and Design (CCCD), will discuss examples of creative transportation design projects in cities across the country, including road improvements, street amenities, bridges, pedestrian walkways, parking, landscape and alternative mass transit design.

“I am honored to have Dian Magie share a lecture regarding the innovative connections between art and transportation within the community,” said Rose Edwards, president of Cary Visual Art, Inc. “This presentation will be an excellent opportunity to learn about novel projects across our country, as well as to help increase awareness of public art in the Triangle region.”
