Baker has over 10 years of experience in the design, construction and real estate arenas. In 2001 he was appointed to the Raleigh Planning Commission. Since that time, he has served as a strategic planning committee chairman, committee of the whole chairman, vice-chairman, and is currently serving as the chairman of the planning commission. Baker earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from North Carolina State University and his Master of Building Construction degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
