CARY, N.C. – Michael G. Carlton, president of Crescent State Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Crescent Financial Corporation, (NASDAQ Global MarketSM), has announced that the bank made a formal donation to the Garner Chamber of Commerce to support its 2007 “Packages for Patriots” program, which will send more than 300 packages to Garner-native men and women serving in the war abroad. The donation was presented by the bank to the local chamber at the Garner Rotary Club meeting held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Carolina Barbeque on U.S. Highway 70.
Local political leaders in attendance included Garner Mayor Ronnie Williams and Town Manager Hardin Watkins. Other special guests included Chief of Police Thomas M. Moss and Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison, as well as a number of local members from the Wake County Fire and Rescue and the Wake County Emergency Services Division of the Wake County Public Safety Department. The town of Garner, as a whole, raised more than $10,000 for this year’s program.
