Day One of Today Without Patty

by MMI

Patty began her vacation today, so for the next two weeks I will be doing the "Today Without Patty" posts. We already miss the intense enthusiasm Patty brings to our office; however, she is not far away—yet. We have heard from her several times today – not about work issues, but about her challenges of last-minute packing for two weeks in Africa. Those who know Patty will not be surprised that she just started packing today.

Patty put me in charge of the candy jar. We are quickly consuming the rest of the gum drops so we can open a bag of CHOCOLATE candy – the definite office favorite.

Other than eating, we have plenty to keep us busy. FIrst, we will complete the piles of tasks Patty left for us and then work with each of our clients to continue to give them the care and attention they receive when Patty is here.

That is all I can write today because I am on my way to Patty’s house to provide airport transportation (I am sure Patty will provide more last-minute advice to me). This time tomorrow, Patty and John will be in Africa on their dream vacation. I will be sitting at my desk trying to keep up with Patty’s endless e-mail.

And, just in case Patty is reading this—no, there are no office parties planned (yet).
