RALEIGH, N.C. – The Dune Dogs, which consists of area executives playing “country-fried swamp ‘n’ roll music,” have been named the Top Local Band in the Triangle by Metro Magazine’s 2007 MetroBravo Awards. Readers voted for the award based on customer service, popularity and overall experience, and the band is featured in the July issue of Metro Magazine. The Dune Dogs will be appearing at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on Thursday, Sept. 27 to honor all recipients of the MetroBravo Award. For more information, visit http://www.metronc.com.

The Dune Dogs are: Dusty Baker (guitar, bass, vocals); “Hillbilly” Dickerson (guitar, bass, vocals); JimChris Dott (bass, keyboards, mandolin, vocals); Finchman (vocals, harmonics); Double “R” (guitar); Dick Turben (drums, percussion, vocals); and Trent D. Goatboy (drums, bass, banjo, percussion, vocals). Recent gigs for the band include the Holiday Extravaganza held on Dec. 21, 2006 and a live performance on March 10, 2007, both at the recently opened Hideaway BBQ in Raleigh.

“We are honored that Metro Magazine has called on the dogs for this award,” said Finchman. “We have been knocking out the country-fried swamp ‘n’ roll for years now, and to be recognized as a top local band for having fun, doing what we do – well, that is as good as it gets.”

About The Dune Dogs:
Conceived and delivered on Ocracoke Island in 2002, the Dune Dogs rural blend of Hard Core Country and Southern Rock n’ Roll prove that a lack of talent and professionalism are not necessarily impediments to good vibes and the “humble endings” of a DUNE DOG experience. The Dune Dogs are: Dusty Baker (guitar, bass, vocals); “Hillbilly” Dickerson (guitar, bass, vocals); JimChris Dott (bass, keyboards, mandolin, vocals); Finchman (vocals, harmonics); Double “R” (guitar); Dick Turben (drums, percussion, vocals); and Trent D.
