Elizabeth’s Rants and Raves

by Elizabeth

I love to express my opinion. I have very strong feelings about certain products and services, and I feel it is my duty to let you know about them, so this is why I am starting a new blog subject that will appear from time to time.

Rave – Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, $18, from Sephoria. I am not a big make-up girl, but I am all about some eyes. I use this every day and it is well worth the price. It comes with one replacement insert, so you will get a lot of use out of this one.

Rant – Kroger’s food selection. I went grocery shopping last night at Kroger. I usually go to Harris Teeter, or “The Teeter,” as we affectionately call it, but I decided I would try something new, and I really needed can drinks. Kroger had their Big K drinks on sale for 5/$10, so I figured I would stock up as I find I like the off-brand just as much or more as the name brand. I also needed a few things for lunches and dinner, and was quite disappointed. I needed black cherries in syrup (not pie filling cherries), and all they had were tart cherries in water. Boo! I also wanted some Sedgefield Chunky Chicken Salad, but they had none. Boo! My last thing was Bowl Appetites – a great lunch option – and of course, they had none. Boo!

Rave – Super Target’s rotisserie chicken salad. Moist, no celery and very tasty!

Rant – Christmas sales. This one deals specifically with holiday merchandise. I found that even before Christmas, stores were getting rid of and marking down stuff. I always love to shop after the holidays and load up on lights, stockings, wrapping paper and cards. This year, it seemed like there was nothing there to buy!

Rave – Diorshow Mascara, Dior, $23, from Sephoria. Gives you long, thick, luscious lashes. The price is expensive, but the product is by far superior to others and also has an oversized brush, which I love.

Rant – The Monet exhibit being sold out. My friend let me know she is coming in town this weekend, and I tried on Tuesday to get tickets for Saturday or Sunday, and this entire week was sold out. Who knew you needed to order tickets a month in advance? I guess I need to get with the program.
