For Better or For Worse: Athletes Are Bloggers Too

by Ryal2

Whether they’re being used for demanding trades, provoking the opponent or even defending a personal reputation (e.g. every athlete/blogger defending themselves from the steroids allegations cited in the Mitchell Report ), blogs are being posted by athletes every single day. Here is a very short list of some of the more popular sports bloggers:

Curt Schilling
MLB, Pitcher, Boston Red Sox

Gilbert Arenas
NBA, Guard, Washington Wizards

Ben Roethlisberger
NFL, Quarterback, Pittsburgh Steelers

Kobe Bryant
NBA, Guard, LA Lakers

David Wright
MLB, 3rd Base, New York Mets

Mark Cuban – Not an athlete, but we can all probably agree he gets a pass.
NBA, Owner, Dallas Mavericks

Donovan McNabb
NFL, Quarterback, Philadelphia Eagles

Greg Oden
NBA, Center, Portland Trailblazers

If you’d rather read non-athletes talk sports, check out the bloggers on the Best Sports Blog List provided and determined by the 2007 Weblog Awards

My personal favorite sports blogger: Buster Olney, senior writer for ESPN The Magazine and blogger for ESPN Network.
