Four Weeks Down!

Well, I have completed almost an entire month at MMI, and I must admit, I have done more in these past four weeks than I expected to do in the first four months. I really want to thank Patty and Candy for giving me a chance – I am so happy to be here!

There is not a day that goes by since I have started that I do not think about my grandma Ginny. Even as a child, she always encouraged me to do the best that I could, and always wanted me to write – and look at me now, with my writing published on a web site and being distributed to various publications! She always wants to know what I am doing, and is just amazed by everything I tell her.

Grandma Ginny lives in Florida and is thinking about moving to North Carolina, which I hope she does – I don’t get to see her much. She says it is way to hot for her and Zar, her dog. Zar is a Chinese Crested, which some say to be the ugliest thing they have ever seen. If you are not familiar with these dogs, they are just like the dog from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. They have no hair except for on their face, paws, end of tail and a mane running down their backs. Zar was even plagued with blackheads during his “puberty” stage! There is a big stink in our family about who will get Zar when grandma Ginny dies, but I am the only one who has volunteered to keep him – he is so ugly he is cute! Grandma, however, feels no one could possibly love him as much as her, and wants him to be put to sleep after she goes. I may change my mind if he ends up looking like Sam, who, rest in peace, won the honor of ugliest dog multiple years in a row.
