Frequent Flyer Miles

by Matt

I arrived back from Baltimore late last night after a trip that was one part Red Sox support and one part college roommate reunion. My former partners in crime are all over the place (Washington D.C., Chicago and Australia) so only three of us were able to meet. Friday we rendezvoused on the campus of Georgetown at the Key Bridge Marriott and had some wings and a few half price beers at Rhino as we watched Eric Gagne choke away the first game of the Orioles series. The game on Saturday was a gem as Josh Beckett came into Oriole Park at Camden Yards and punished one bird after another. We went out in Baltimore and enjoyed some refreshments in celebration of the victory. Sunday was a complete disaster. A 6 1/2 hour trip turned into almost 9 as I got stuck in traffic around Fredericksburg and Richmond and then fell victim to a traffic jam on I85 for over an hour. I vow to never drive anywhere north of North Carolina ever again. I don’t currently have frequent flyer miles, nor do I fly very often, but that is all about to change.
