It is Friday afternoon and very quiet. The rain from Ernesto is leaving the area; however, it is still gray and breezy. The phone has not rung for hours. The only e-mails we are receiving are from each other. I think everyone else has already started their Labor Day holiday.
Patty found a computer somewhere and did e-mail last night, so we all had plenty of messages to go through this morning. Not one message told us anything about where Patty was or what she was doing. We hope she is safe and will be returning to the office soon. We miss her – and we especially miss the drama that always happens when Patty is around. We certainly found out this week that without Patty, we all are boring.
At least half of the MMI team has weekend plans – beach, mountains, family, etc., so I told them they could leave a little early today – IF/WHEN the office was spotless. I still smell bleach from all the cleaning that happened. Don’t worry Patty – we used rags, not paper towels.
The day is winding down; the office is clean; the team is getting antsy looking at the clock. The phone still has not rung. Guess we’ll all rest up in anticipation of Patty’s return.
