Greystone at Widewaters

On Tuesday, one of our clients, Greystone at Widewaters, an exclusive luxury apartment development in Knightdale hosted a luncheon celebrating the opening of the new extension of Interstate 540 from Capital Boulevard to Highway 64. The event followed the NCDOT ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new nine-mile stretch of highway, which Nicole and I attended. I normally do not get exciting about new road openings, but I must admit is was rather exhilarating parking my car and walking on I-540. Nicole and I were excited to be one of the first people to drive on the new 540 stretch, or so we thought until we spoke with another client at the reception – who will remain nameless – and found out she was driving on it a month before it opened; of course by mistake. There was an EXCELLENT turnout, including the Mayor of Knightdale, Mr. Doug Boyd, the Chick-fil-a cow and the amazing AArrow Ad entertainers.

Public Relations for the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) U.S. 1/64
MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
