It’s About Time!

Finally, normal sized women are gracing the pages of big time magazines, thanks to Dove’s Campaign For Real Beauty. I can remember opening up my Vogue magazine and seeing six healthy women modeling for one of the leading skincare products in America.

These six brave women consist of two students, a kindergarten teacher, a manicurist, an administrative assistant and a café’ barista. The images of these women have not been altered or retouched in anyway, unlike the more traditional ads of 6’2’’ supermodels in Victoria Secret underwear.

I think this campaign is a change in the right direction for women everywhere, but will it stick? Will America’s view of the “perfect body” ever change?

  1. I totally agree with you! Dove is making a huge impact on positive “body image”. Hurray!

  2. Nicole,
You know I agree. Rock on to the full figured gals or the “normal” body type-you know, the type with curves.
