RALEIGH, N.C. – Jeff Davis, president of JDavis Architects, has announced that the firm has won the Champion Award for Best Development Team for their work on the Baity Hill Student Family Housing project at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The award is sponsored by Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women and JDavis Architects was recognized along with the other members of the development team, which included The Ron Strom Company, Michael Hining Architects, Clancy & Theys, Civil Consultants, Inc., Atlantec Engineers and Fluhrer Reed, P.A. Baity Hill is a new campus for married students at UNC Chapel Hill as was designed to replace Odom Village, the university’s previous student family housing complex. The project was developed under a private and public partnership with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Endowment, Inc. This $90 million project was completed in April 2005, four months ahead of schedule.
“We had an extremely talented project team that worked seamlessly together to address and overcome the challenges related to this project,” said Davis. “It is an honor to receive this award, but I am equally proud that our work on Baity Hill has created a place that students with families can call home while pursuing their education.”

The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
