Lots of Wedding News (Not mine!)

by Jill

The past few weeks have flown by – it’s so hard to believe it’s already April! In addition to getting a lot accomplished at work, I’ve gotten the chance to catch up with a lot of friends I hadn’t seen in a while.

I spent some time in Scotland Neck, N.C. a couple weekends ago. My friends, Macy and Zach, got married. The ceremony was gorgeous and the reception was a blast. Macy’s a police officer in Holly Springs, and Zach’s a fire fighter in Chapel Hill, so there were lots of fun little perks to the wedding. The cake topper, which had a police bride and a fire fighter groom, was the cutest one I’ve ever see and Zach got a good laugh when he took off Macy’s garter and found out she was wearing her uniform boots and had a gun in her garter. Overall, it was a fun weekend and Scotland Neck (which is teeny tiny) was a nice escape from Raleigh.

In more wedding news, I’ve been planning a bridal shower and bachelorette festivities for one of my very best friends, Kristen, over the past few weeks. Myself, another bridesmaid and the maid of honor met at Swoozie’s in Triangle Town Center to find cute invitations and then did lots of planning over dinner at Twisted Fork. It was my first time there and I was impressed with the ambiance but not so much with the menu. However, if you do go, get the caprese salad. It was delicious!
