RALEIGH—The N.C. Department of Transportation has announced that it will install a temporary traffic pattern on Cary Parkway over U.S. 1/64 in Cary, beginning on Monday, Nov. 13 at 9 p.m., weather permitting.
The newly constructed entrance ramp and loops from Cary Parkway onto U.S. 1/64 northbound and southbound will open. Motorists accessing U.S. 1/64 from Cary Parkway using the new loops will make only right turns to access U.S. 1/64 and should follow the newly posted signs.
During the next three weeks, travel lanes on the overpass will be shifted to allow for the final construction of the overpass. Motorists travelling on Cary Parkway should watch for changes in traffic patterns, follow the newly posted signs, obey the posted speed limit and stay alert for construction workers and equipment.
Motorists can visit the project Web site www.us1wake.com for news and updates regarding the project. Web site users also can register to receive e-mail updates about the U.S. 1/64 improvement project.

MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
