If I had written about all the crazy things that have happened since last week, I think I would have a book (not a blog) by now. This will be my humble attempt to catch you up. Stay with me here.
For those of us with massively large families, Christmas cannot possibly fit into two days. I started Christmas last weekend – that’s right, December 3rd – in the little town of Washington, NC. My mom’s family lives there. For as long as I can remember, we have celebrated Christmas the first weekend in December. I love it! But I’m getting ahead of myself here. Back it up.
I decided to head to G-vegas on Friday and make a weekend out of my family day in Washington. I met my favorite college dance buddy, Trish, and her ECU grad-school friends at Ham’s the minute that I got into town. We found my cutie cousin, Jessica, who decided to hit the town with us. I refuse to go into details, but I will say that all good nights should end at the Waffle House. It was a great night. Thanks, Trish!
I headed over to my grandma’s in Washington for the day on Saturday. I wrapped presents to help her get ready for our Christmas party and laughed while she spent the afternoon making her famous chocolate-covered potato chips. I love Grandma time!
Later that night, I scooped up my mom and drove back to Greenville to watch my favorite boys play at PB’s. If you don’t know Who’s Bad, you don’t know a good show. Since it started so late, Grandma decided to sit this one out. Lucky for the band, she sent a few bags of chocolate chips! My mom and I had a blast, and while we did not make it to the Waffle House after, we did make a scandalous 2:30 a.m. Wal-Mart run. Again, if you want the details, you’ll have to ask. I would hate to tell on my mother.
The Manning Christmas party on Sunday was wonderful. This is always one of the most interesting of my family events. We never can guess what might be wrapped up for us under the tree. This year, the winning gift went to the men in the family. Please take a look below. Jansen and I should probably do a commercial for Dentafresh! Don’t you think?

I’m headed off to NYC with family today, so stay tuned for an “Only Allison In The Apple.” I am sure that there will be a lot to tell.
