I love NFL Football. My Sundays are filled with football, from 1-7, and then again at 8:30. On Mondays, I am in front of the TV at 8:30 again. I also play Fantasy Football in a couple of leagues, although I was more into it last year. It could have to do with the fact that in every draft I participated in this year, I was the last or next to last pick. I also had Carson Palmer last year, who led the fantasy league in points, along with Steve Smith, who led the league in receiving yards, receptions and touchdowns. That said, onto my rant.
Ok, I absolutely love the Carolina Panthers. Let me rephrase, I am trying to love the Carolina Panthers. But seriously, WHAT ARE WE DOING OUT THERE? Seriously. As my dad likes to say, they folded like a cheap suit. As I like to say, we choked big time, and we feel the need to repeat that behavior. Let me just say that if we could hold on to our stinking leads, we would be 11-1 right now, instead of 6-6. We have blown 5, yes 5, fourth quarter leads to take a big ol’ L. (Did you SEE the game last night? What are we doing??? I almost took my Panthers ornament off my Christmas tree!) Right now, we deserve to lose every remaining game, which may be a possibility as we are taking on the Giants, Steelers, Falcons and Saints to finish out the season. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that we are still in the NFC playoff race. If we can stay there, however, it may be a miracle. Enough for now – let’s just hope that we get our act together before it’s too late. We have always played our best ball when we are down and out, so hopefully we will see some of that behavior, as our season is not looking very promising.
