Ragsdale Liggett Announces New Associate Attorney

RALEIGH, N.C. – Ragsdale Liggett PLLC has announced that John R. (“Jay”) Hemphill has joined the law firm as an associate attorney. In this position, Hemphill will focus on civil defense litigation as well as further develop his estate planning practice. Hemphill is admitted to practice before all North Carolina courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining Ragsdale Liggett PLLC, Hemphill served as a judge advocate with the United States Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. and Pope Air Force Base, N.C., prosecuting military courts-martial and assisting soldiers with their estate planning needs. For his service, he was awarded two Air Force commendation medals, which recognize the service, achievement and contributions of Air Force members. Hemphill received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
