RALEIGH, N.C. – Ragsdale Liggett PLLC has announced that Melissa Dewey Brumback, partner at the firm, has been named co-chair of the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division Newsletter Committee (NCBA YLD). In this position, Brumback will solicit and write articles for the YLD’s quarterly newsletter, The Advocate, and coordinate authorship and publication of articles written by young lawyers, for young lawyers, in the newsletters of the different NCBA Sections.
The Young Lawyer’s Division of the NCBA engages in projects and services which benefit members of the legal profession, the public at large and students at all levels. These activities are implemented through one or more of the committees that comprise the YLD. Involvement in the YLD enables members to establish a network for directed volunteerism and to network with other members of the legal profession in North Carolina. The NCBA is a voluntary organization that seeks to serve the public and the legal profession by promoting the administration of justice and encouraging the highest standards of integrity, competence, civility and well-being of all members of the profession.
As an attorney at Ragsdale Liggett PLLC, Brumback focuses on complex commercial, business and construction litigation. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Phi Beta Kappa honors and highest distinction in 1994. Brumback is a previous recipient of the 40 Under 40 Award, given by the Triangle Business Journal to respected leaders under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the Triangle community. She resides in Chapel Hill with her husband, Stephen and daughter, Lillian.
