Raleigh-Wake Human Resource Management Association Announces 2006 Scholarship Program

RALEIGH, N.C. – Terry Bradley, president of the Raleigh-Wake Human Resource Management Association (RWHRMA), a non-profit human resources professional association and local affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), has announced the $500 2006 Student Chapter Scholarship Program. Recipients are Triangle college students who exhibit scholarly excellence, participate in human resources and civic activities, have work experience, and wrote exceptional papers about why they wanted to embark in the human resources field. Applicants submitted three letters of reference, one of which was from a student chapter advisor. This year’s recipients are Meredith College’s Brittany Buchanan, Peace College’s Angel Canada, and North Carolina State University’s Kristie Dillard.

“We are excited to honor these students for their hard work,” said Bradley. “This scholarship rewards the Triangle’s future human resource entrepreneurs for their continual success in school and civic activities.”

About Brittany Buchanan:
Brittany Buchanan is a rising senior at Meredith College majoring in business with a concentration in management. She is a Meredith College SHRM member and future 2006-2007 chapter President, Human Resources Games participant, and RWHRMA volunteer.

About Angel Canada:
Angela Canada is a rising senior at Peace College majoring in Human Resource Management. She is a Peace College SHRM member and Human Resource Games participant.

About Kristie Dillard:
Kristie Dillard is a recent graduate of North Carolina State University (NCSU) who received a Business Management degree with a concentration in human resources. She was a NCSU SHRW chapter member, Human Resources Games participant, Xtreme Beginnings volunteer, RWHRMA mentor program participant.
