Robbie Ferris Speaks On Public-Private Partnerships For Schools

by Kate Catlin

RALEIGH, N.C. – FirstFloor K-12 Solutions, LLC has announced that Robbie Ferris, CEO of the firm, will speak on public-private partnerships for schools at the Triangle Community Coalition (TCC) Lunch & Learn on Monday, Dec. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® building at One Eleven Place. Ferris joins Wake County Commissioner Joe Bryan and Mike Burris of the Wake County Public School System for a panel discussion to examine a new state law allowing a private entity to build a school and lease it back to a school system over a 40-year period. The luncheon costs $20 for TCC members and $30 for non-members, and payment must be received in advance to guarantee receiving a lunch. “The new public-private partnership law allows a great opportunity for area school systems to handle the massive growth they currently face,” said Ferris. “This panel discussion provides an excellent platform to explain how the private sector, local school boards and elected leaders can work together and use the law for everyone’s best interests.”
