RALEIGH, N.C. – Roi Parker, owner of R.O.I Salon, has been elected President of The Women’s Center of Wake County Board for 2006. The Board of Directors selected Parker based on his connection with the community and his overall enthusiasm and commitment to addressing the growing issue of homelessness for women and mothers within the community.  Parker will act as a liaison between the organization and the community, providing opportunities for increased resources and long-term growth. Parker hopes to use his vision in order to increase homelessness prevention, provide housing stability and address safety needs for the Center’s women.

“The Women’s Center has a legacy of helping women in our community for over 25 years,” said Parker. “I am proud to be a part of this wonderful organization and I look forward to helping them grow.”
