Today I won the coveted MMI golden horn award by ghostwriting an article for MMI client Marsha Firestone of the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO). The article, “A Peer Advisory Group Can Help You Grow Your Business,” was published in the Spring issue of Professional Woman’s Magazine.
Kate earned a Gucci handbag today by placing the article. Now if you think that Kate received the better deal, you just don’t know me. I don’t like handbags—I like fanny packs. I don’t care that fanny packs aren’t cool. I’m just an aging hippie at heart, with simple tastes and a love of jeans and other uncomplicated things.
Writing the article for Marsha was quite interesting. A very busy woman, Marsha gave me about ten minutes on the phone for the interview. She’s an expert in adult learning with a Ph.D. in Communication from Columbia University, where Margaret Mead sat on her dissertation committee. I remember hearing Margaret Mead speak years and years ago at the University of Northern Colorado, and I wrote a piece about her lecture for the local paper. Small world, huh?

MMI Associates was contracted to handle media relations and to organize various efforts to open the communication lines between the construction entities on the project and motorists. The firm developed a strategic public relations campaign to ensure that local motorists and those passing through would be aware of the most up-to-date traffic patterns.
How exciting! I wish my boss gave me a Gucci handbag, but I agree with you, fanny packs are much easier! Congrats on your “golden horn”!
