To Blog or Not

by Susan

I have been informed that one of my responsibilities here at MMI Associates is that I have to Blog (should that be an uppercase or lowercase “b” ?) weekly. This presents a huge problem. I don’t know how! Everyone around me at work knows what a blog is and how to go about blogging (blogging is a verb, correct?) . (How come my spellcheck does not acknowledge that the words blog or blogging are words?) I have heard the term many times but have had no interest is knowing anything about it. So here I am responsible for writing a blog – now what????

I have admitted to my co-workers that I don’t know how to blog or what to blog about. Admitting this was hard enough. I can’t bear the thought of how embarrassed I will feel having to ask them for help. It is now Saturday afternoon, and I have less than 144 hours to come up with my first blog. Panic is setting in!

I think you blog on a computer and that it requires writing, therefore I have avoided my computer all morning. I have thought about Googling (I know how to Google) “blogging ,” but that would require sitting at the computer (too close for comfort). Guess what – spellcheck doesn’t acknowledge “Google” or “Googling” either!!!

I have decided to go to the Wake County Public Library to find out if the work blog is in the dictionary and if so what it is exactly. I will let you know what I find.
