Today With Patty...

Today I ate two meals with Erika Mangrum, a sought-after speaker and recognized expert in the spa industry. First Erika, Nicole, Jennifer Smith and I had breakfast at the Cardinal Club, where we discussed the Triangle Society benefits and privileges that Erika plans to extend to members this coming year through her Iatria Day Spa and Health Center businesses.

Later for lunch at the Duck & Dumpling, Erika and I were joined by Suzanne Burns, the Vice President and General Manager of Eaton Corporation’s $300 million power protection business. Artspace, Raleigh’s private, non-profit visual arts center, is courting the three of us for board positions.

After lunch, I went to physical therapy for my shoulder. My physical trainer beats me up and makes me do all sorts of things that hurt—have I mentioned that my shoulder aches from so much exercise?

This week MMI is holding an interview contest to see who can obtain the most media interviews for their clients. Kipp and Nicole are racing ahead neck-and-neck; while Kate, Michelle and I are bringing up the rear. I’ll probably lose.
