Today With Patty – Aug. 9, 2007

by Patty

Let me give you an eye update, the one affected by my bone-crushing fall on Saturday night at Erika and Dave Mangrum’s. My eye has turned a lovely new shade of red today, above and below my upper eye. Of course, I have had several people very nicely ask me, “How is everything going at home?” and giving me weird looks. I am suffering in silence and keeping it all to myself, because I am just that way – you never hear me complain!

Today I went to the Women In Business luncheon. It was really well done, and it was so exciting to see so many of our clients and families win. Tina Shanahan of Be Active North Carolina won the RBC Centura Mentoring Award, and she was dressed in her full whites, as she is also in the Navy, and she really stood out in the crowd. And I always love Women In Business because everybody in town is there, and you get to catch up with people you have not seen in ages.

Tomorrow I am really looking forward to heading to Grove Park Inn with my “Suppa Club” group, where we will be staying on the Club Floor and indulging in various spa amenities. Of course, there will be much eating and drinking going on as well, and quite a lot of napping. The best part of going anywhere with Sheila and Carroll Ogle and Bill and Jennifer Terry is that you never have to plan anything – Jennifer Terry plans and thinks of everything. I cannot wait.
