This morning over breakfast, Kipp, Ryal and I met with a reporter and had an interesting conversation about the future of public relations and news media. One of the interesting discussions was about how in the future news media will be more of a conversation and less factual. This makes me sad because I love the newspaper and love reading the News & Observer , but apparently, I am a dying breed that is quickly fading.
As of this morning I have decided to go back on my no carb diet. This is always one of the toughest decisions anyone has to make, because it is so hard to fill up on protein; or at least it is for me. But I need to get back on the bandwagon since a few of my favorite clothes are not fitting quite as I would like them to. Of course, on the day that I decide to give up carbs, the lovely Nicole decides to bring in Krispy Kreme for everyone. I was good. As everyone else ate doughnut after doughnut, I managed to forget that they were there. No doughnuts for me, not even the cream filled ones with chocolate icing, oh baby those are tough to resist.
I spent the afternoon on a PR crisis situation, which seems to be happening more often lately. This weekend I dealt with another crisis, the E.coli situation in Cary, which contrary to Friday’s blog was not a result of the MMI sponge. I finally broke down and threw out the disgusting sponge from Friday and replaced it today, so I know that no one in the office would be exposed to the sponge flu. As for this latest PR crisis situation, just know that I am fighting for truth, justice and the American way.
Finally, tonight I am excited to go to an exclusive wine and cheese party at Exploris with Allison. We will get a sneak preview of their new traveling exhibit; The Enemy Within: Terror in America, 1776 – Today. No matter how tired I may seem, I am anxious to see this stimulating and thought-provoking exhibit.
Oh, and I certainly do not want to forget that MMI continues to grow. Today, Wesley joined the team as a writer. As our clients know, writing is one of the cornerstones of MMI. We are excited to have another professional writer on board.
