I think Mother Nature read my blog yesterday, because all of a sudden it got cold here. It has really been kind of an icky, windy day. We were discussing how we all wanted to have a fire on a day like today, but then, since we have gas fireplaces, we knew we would not be doing that, because nobody has enough money to use a gas fireplace anymore. I remember the good old days when I ran them all weekend long. In Phoenix, we did not have gas – we had a propane tank hidden in our side yard, and it could run all winter on two tanks. Of course, in Phoenix you would have to open the doors and windows because it would make the house so hot.
I have been in the office all day long, and I am loving it. I am not sure how the rest of the staff feels about that, but I love it, especially since I can dress like a bum. Right now I have on soft terrycloth pants, a turtleneck and socks. I am not very stylish, but I am comfortable.
This morning, knowing that I would be in the office all day, I decided to bring in some leftovers to have for lunch. Since I had plenty and I have been cracking on Ryal about eating all my food, I decided to bring enough for him. Now mind you, Ryal will eat anything. He had a can of cold SpaghettiOs for his snack this afternoon. That is really gross. So I made “lentils”:http://www.beanslentils.com/ and pasta, which is traditionally Italian peasant food. Ryal had never had lentils, but he did eat a bowl and then pronounced that they tasted better heated up than cold! No kidding, Ryal!
