Today With Patty – July 13, 2007

by Patty

Last night I went to Vivace for drinks and had so much fun in spite of the fact that all the “pretty people” go there. It is very tragically hip and deeply cool. As you know, I am neither.

I do believe that Bryant-Phillips is going to pull a rabbit out of their hat and have my laundry room floor finished today. They came over early this morning, and as I left, they were mixing grout and fending off Katie Scarlet, who was attempting to help. It will be a miracle if they can get this floor laid without cat hair in the grout.

OK, so I have to go home, put my house back together, go grocery shopping, set the table, and cook the food in time for my guests to arrive Saturday. Who wants to hear my menu? We are having blue cheese parmesan toast points and shrimp cocktail for hors d’oeuvres, with pomegranate martinis and a special Scotch bar featuring all the exotic Scotch we brought back from Scotland. The salad will be cashew and black pepper goat cheese medallions atop greens with blackberries and a raspberry vinaigrette. For dinner we are having seafood lasagna with a Béchamel sauce, green beans and glazed carrots. For dessert we are having mascarpone cheesecake with brandied cherries and an assortment of liqueurs. How I am somehow going to get this done, I have no idea. I will let you know Monday if I pull it off.
