So I am watching Fox News this morning, which I know Kipp hates because he is a Communist liberal bedwetting Democrat who cannot stand the fair and balanced Fox News, and they are showing newly released pictures of Nessie from Loch Ness that were taken last Saturday. So guess where I was last Saturday during my trip to Scotland? You got it! I was sticking my toes in the lake, but I never saw Nessie.
The reality of taking eight days off is hitting home. I am behind in work, and I have my mother and my aunt still here, and I have got to get myself home to make dinner and stuff. It is killing me. I did have a meeting today with Dr. Darcy Ward and Dr. Jennifer Greenfield, and I managed to talk them into giving me an adjustment in the meeting, because my back was screwed up from sitting on a plane. The good thing is that the rest of the office is all caught up, and I think that secretly – and maybe not so secretly – they want me to take a week off every month. I am seriously thinking about taking off at least one Friday a month.
Ryal is off my fecal list because I have had all his clients call in and tell me how wonderful he is, and it is a little hard to stay mad at him when everybody is telling me what a great job he is doing. And actually I am coming to suspect that he might have been for sick for real before I left, because the rest of the office has been coming up lame with the flu, except for Kipp, who has never missed a day at MMI, which is why I am always so gracious and reasonable when he wants time off. The flu is sweeping the office like a schoolroom full of preschoolers. It is interesting, though, how whenever we get the flu, every girl downstairs gets it plus Ryal. What is Ryal doing downstairs that he gets the flu?
